Ayalew Jejaw Zeleke
Postdoctoral Trainee

Dr. Ayalew Jejaw Zeleke is a Medical Parasitologist and researcher specializing in malaria epidemiology, molecular parasitology, vector biology, and malaria parasite genomics. He graduated with a BSc in Medical Laboratory Technology from the University of Gondar and an
MSc in Medical Parasitology from Jimma University, Ethiopia. He also earned his PhD in Medical Parasitology from the University of Gondar, Ethiopia, where his doctoral research focused on the genomic analysis of Plasmodium falciparum, antimalarial drug resistance, and malaria diagnostic performance. His research experience includes field epidemiology, molecular laboratory methods, malaria genomic data analysis, and malaria surveillance. He also has experience conducting mosquito membrane feeding assays to investigate malaria transmission
dynamics. Dr. Zeleke has authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific publications and is committed to advancing malaria research through multidisciplinary approaches that integrate epidemiology, molecular tools, entomology, and genomics to support evidence-based malaria
control and elimination.
