Dr. Xiao Huang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental Sciences at Emory University. His research focuses on human–environment interactions, computational social science, urban informatics, GeoAI, and disaster mapping and remote sensing. He has authored over 240 peer-reviewed journal articles and 20+ book chapters, edited five books, and has received more than 7,000 Google Scholar citations, ranking him among the World’s Top 2% Scientists (Stanford/Elsevier). He serves as an Associate Editor for Computational Urban Science and the Journal of Remote Sensing and has received funding from NSF, NASA, the Gates Foundation, and other major agencies.
