Esayas Aklilu (PhD) is an associate professor of medical entomology at the Center for Pathobiology Research, Aklilu Lemma Institute of Health Research, AAU. His research areas focus on studying bionomics, behaviors, and ecology of vectors of vector-borne diseases such as malaria, dengue, leishmaniasis, and others with the aim of developing vector control strategies for the diseases. Apart from research activities, he has also been engaged in teaching and advising graduating students. He has been involved in internationally and locally funded research projects. Currently, he is serving as Head of the Center for Pathobiology Research. He has published a number of scientific papers in peer-reviewed international journals.
